Roy can't shake bogus Tweets

Sunshine Coast Daily

AUSTRALIA'S youngest federal MP is fuming over bogus Twitter accounts in his name, one of which last week was the first to distribute online the now infamous photo of NRL star Joel Monaghan engaged in a sex act with a dog.

Wyatt Roy, the member for Longman, has had little success in stamping out the Twitter profiles set up to impersonate him, including @wyatt_roy and @WyattRoyMP.

His anger peaked last week when the @WyattRoyMP account was used to distribute the photo of Monaghan, which showed him engaged in - as Monaghan has admitted - a "simulated" sex act with a teammate's Labrador.

"Fake Twitter accounts purporting to be from Wyatt Roy emerged during the election campaign, potentially set up by opponents of Wyatt Roy," a statement distributed by Roy's office reads.

"These fake Twitter accounts, including @WyattRoyMP, were set up in a deliberate attempt to damage the reputation of Wyatt Roy and mislead other Twitter users."
