Rubbish truck touches powerlines and dumps load in car yard

A RUBBISH truck dumped its load in a car dealership at 8.30am on Tuesday after touching live powerlines.

The truck was lifting a skip bin when it hit the overhead lines and caused an arc.

Rubbish in the rear of the truck started smoking and the driver of the truck decided to empty his load.

Queensland Fire and Rescue were quickly on the scene and extinguished the smoldering mess.

More than 14 cubic metres of rubbish needs to be cleaned up.

No one was injured.
