Storm's Craig Bellamy nervous about Origin clash

RUGBY LEAGUE: Storm coach Craig Bellamy will be desperately hoping lightning doesn't strike twice when his champion halfback Cooper Cronk lines up for Queensland in Origin game three on Wednesday night.

Cronk broke his left arm in a tackle on Blues back-rower and Storm team-mate Ryan Hoffman nine minutes into game one at Suncorp Stadium on May 28.

That was expected to spell the end of the series for Cronk, but he has surprised almost everyone by returning for the final game.

At training with the NSW camp in Coffs Harbour yesterday, Hoffman said his team-mate's work ethic was legendary.

"Anyone who knows Cooper knows how hard he works, whether it's in training or rehab, he's been doing everything he can," the Blues' player's player from game two said.

"I saw last week he was doing some passing and did some contact at the end of last week, and he's still got a week to go before the game so I'm sure he'll be fine."

Hoffman also said he wouldn't hesitate to run at Cronk again.

"It's the world's worst kept secret that back-rowers run at halfbacks on the edge. That's my role and I'll do my role as best I can for the team," he said.

"I'm out there to do a job, we're out there playing a game. If you're not willing to go out there and put your body on the line, whether you're running the ball or defending, you shouldn't be out there.

"I know Cooper would think exactly the same."

The NSW players were given the keys to the city in Coffs Harbour yesterday, in recognition of the role the city had played in helping the team prepare for this year's games.
