Police treat overnight building fire as suspicious

UPDATE: Scenes of Crime investigators are treating the overnight fire of a disused office building as suspicious.

The building has been completed destroyed with parts of the structure collapsed.

Scenes of Crimes are at the Warrego Hwy site and are working to find the cause of the blaze.

Two trucks from Chinchilla attended the blaze that took almost three hours to extinguish.

The building was not connected to electricity.

Fire investigators will join Scenes of Crime at the site today.

EARLIER: The cause of a blaze that ripped through the offices of the old Chinchilla saleyards this morning is under investigation.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the fire broke out in the office buildings at the Warrego Hwy address, 1km east of Chinchilla at 3.19am.

It is unknown how long it took fire crews to extinguish the fire. No injuries have been reported.

The site remains under guard as Scenes of Crime and fire investigators work to establish a cause.
