Schipper into 200 fly semis

AUSTRALIA'S Jessicah Schipper qualified for the women's 200m butterfly semi-finals, but compatriot Samantha Hamill missed out at the Aquatic Centre on Tuesday.

Schipper, who won bronze in the event at the Beijing Olympics, got off to a flying start in her heat but faded to finish fifth behind eventual winner Natsumi Hoshi of Japan.

Spanish duo Judit Ignacio Sorribes and Mireia Belmonte Garcia finished second and third respectively.
