School goes into lockdown after boys cause damage

UPDATE 2PM: POLICE say two boys that damaged property at an Ipswich school this morning are only nine years old.

Silkstone State School went into lockdown about 11am, following reports of two boys damaging property and arming themselves with sticks.

Police attended and spoke to the boys, however it is understood they are under the age of criminal responsibility.

EARLIER: POLICE say they are speaking to two boys who allegedly threatened students of an Ipswich school this morning.

Silkstone State School went into lockdown about 11am following reports that two juveniles were armed with sticks.

Police attended and are speaking with the two young people involved.

There are no reports of injuries.
