FORMER Emerald schoolboy Junior Lolo Fakaosilea has rounded out a sensational international tour with the Australian Schoolboys Rugby First XV, where the side defeated the mighty New Zealand Schools First XV 16-14 in Auckland.

Australia had wins over Samoa Schools (80-7) and Fiji Schools (29-12), with just two losses to Fiji President's XV (18-9) and NZ Barbarians (24-5).

Junior's journey to rugby stardom started back in February 2011, when as a then 15-year-old youngster, he was selected in the Australian Rugby Union's Junior Gold Squad - a development program for gifted school-aged players.

The talented teen, who now boards at Brisbane Boys College, told the CQ News at the time his position in the squad would bode well for his ongoing rugby career.

"I can see it helping me a lot in the future," Junior said.

He was joined on tour by fellow central Queensland junior Jonah Placid, from Rockhampton.
