UPDATE: One Pittsworth shopper's wallet could be overflowing with $1 million, with the mystery Lotto winner still yet to be discovered.
Almost 48 hours after the Wednesday Gold Lotto numbers were draw, Golden Casket officials are still yet to hear from the new millionaire who bought the ticket from Pittsworth Newsagency.
As the entry is not registered to a Winners Circle card, officials have no way to contact the winner.
Pittsworth Newsagency manager Debbie Markey said there had been no shortage of locals coming to the store to check their entries.
"We've sold other division one winning entries in the past, but this is the first million-dollar one," Ms Markey said.
"It's exciting. The news is all over town. Hopefully with everyone checking their entries our mystery winner will learn about their prize soon."
Golden Casket spokesman Matt Hart said it was not unusual for some unregistered division one winners to take a few days to discover their prize.
"Some customers tell us they have a routine of only checking their old Gold Lotto tickets when they next pop into an outlet to buy next week's entry," he said.
"We're in the business of uniting winners with their prize money and thankfully most unregistered winners come forward within seven days of the draw.
"Anyone would agree, if you won $1 million you'd want to know about it, which is why we strongly recommend registering your Gold Lotto entries to a Winners Circle card. That way we can call you with the life-changing news."
The winning ticketholder is urged to contact Golden Casket as soon as possible on 131 868 to begin the prize claim process.
"Our contact centre is open across the weekend so if the unsuspecting Pittsworth winner checks their ticket during this time they can still make contact with us," Mr Hart said.
YESTERDAY: There is a new millionaire on the Darling Downs, and the lucky person may not even know it yet.
A Pittsworth shopper became a millionaire in last night's Gold Lotto draw, winning the division one $1 million prize.
The winning ticket holder is urged to contact Golden Casket as soon as possible to begin the prize-claim process.
The search for the newly-minted Pittsworth millionaire comes as Golden Casket outlets experience a surge of traffic today with customers lining up for an entry in tonight's $50 million Powerball draw.
Golden Casket spokesman Matt Hart said the Pittsworth division one winning entry had not been registered to a Winners Circle card so officials had no clues or contact details for the winner.
"If you bought an entry in last night's Monday and Wednesday Gold Lotto in Pittsworth, there's more than a million reasons why it would pay to check, and double check, your entry," Mr Hart said.
"Imagine winning more than a million dollars but not knowing it. Discovering you're a new millionaire is bound to change your plans for the rest of the week.
"We're putting the call out to help track down our mystery winner and share the happy news with them.
"The winning ticket may have been stashed away for safekeeping in a wallet, the car glovebox or be hiding in plain sight on the fridge door."
The winning numbers in Monday and Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3697 on Wednesday, September 20 were 17, 13, 5, 24, 37 and 26. The supplementary numbers were 28 and 40.
Across Australia there were two division one winning entries in Monday and Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 3697 - one from Queensland and one from South Australia.
