She’s out of your league
SPECTATORS are being encouraged to wear pink for a charity rugby league match tomorrow at Cabarita Beach that will also celebrate the huge contribution made by women to the game.
Tweed Coast Raiders Women in League have teamed up with On Track Community Programs to host the fundraiser at Les Burger Fields.
The event will help fund On Track's women's domestic violence and homelessness prevention service, but it will also recognise the role females play behind the scenes in the otherwise blokey game of rugby league. The spotlight will be on the mums, grandmothers, daughters and sisters who make up Women in League, women like Raiders under-9s coach Jeanette Craigie.
"I've always wanted to coach but have never had time until now. It's a big challenge coaching a young team but I love it," the Cabarita resident said.
Tweed Coast Raiders junior team will be competing against various sides during six games on the day.
