Sica to stand trial for child rape

BRISBANE man Max Sica is due to stand trial on child rape charges in November.

The 42-year-old is charged with two counts of rape, eight counts of carnal knowledge, and nine of indecent treatment and maintaining a relationship with an 11-year-old girl.

Mr Sica has pleaded not guilty to those charges, and was committed to stand trial last year.

The case was mentioned in the Brisbane District Court today, where lawyers representing Mr Sica said his counsel, barrister Sam di Carlo, was ready to proceed with the trial in November.
