FIVE inch stilettos, sparkling mini dresses, red lipstick and big hair - Rebecca O'Connor is the closest to Tina Turner as you get.

Rebecca will be performing at the Capella Cultural Centre on Wednesday, September 14, as part of her Simply the Best tour and you can be sure the concert will be just that as she performs renditions of Tina Turner's greatest hits.

Rebecca comes with Tina's blessing to perform the hits, after Tina saw her perform in concert, saying "she was so good, it was scary".

"I've been endorsed by Tina herself… you can't get a bigger compliment," Rebecca said. "I put my spin on her, it's a fabulous show, I work hard at it."

Irish born and bred, Rebecca said she was looking forward to touring throughout Central Queensland, saying being on tour was a great way to see the most beautiful parts of Australia and dance with the crowds that come to see her perform.

"The audiences have been unreal and full of enthusiasm," she said. "Australian crowds took me by surprise. I love performing over here, it's great.

"I can't wait to see you all in Capella."

Rebecca said her favourite song to perform was Nutbush City Limits because Australians always get up and dance, which she hasn't witnessed anywhere else in the world.

And you can rest assured those five inch heels won't be stopping Rebecca from dancing on the night.

"I find it easier to walk in heels than thongs," she said with a laugh.

The concert starts at 8pm and tickets are available by calling 4984 9300.
