FORMER Sunshine Coast player Zac Anderson returned from injury, but his presence was not enough to help Central Coast Mariners beat Sydney FC last night.

Playing his first game since suffering a back injury earlier this month, Anderson could do little to stop a rampant Blues team from winning 4-2.

The Sky Blues' Marc Janko starred at the Sydney Football Stadium, scoring a brace that negated Portuguese import Fabio Ferreira's double.

Janko's first came in the 14th minute, but Ferriera responded just before the half-time whistle to put the scores level at the break.

Ferreira's second in the 58th minute gave Central Coast the lead and a glimmer of hope, but three second-half Sydney goals heaped more misery on Phil Moss's men.

Rhyan Grant scored Sydney's first of the second half in the 68th minute, before substitute Shane Smeltz secured the lead in the 81st minute. Ferreira's second came in the second minute of time added.
