A SNAKE catcher from Toowoomba has daringly rounded up a serpent in pitch black conditions.

Dave Wiedman from Toowoomba Snake Catchers 24/7 was called to an address in Raelyn St Centenary Heights.

He said the occupants noticed it in the tree out in the backyard where their children regularly play.

'I just caught it before it got to the tree top," he said.

"One happy relieved family and a young healthy carpet python released into the wild."

Mr Wiedman recently filmed the rare act of a small eyed snake eating another snake of the same species.

The cannablistic act has since gone viral around the world.
