Sneaky thieves steal petrol from stunned man's car
BRAD Ritter was stunned when he returned home on Monday night to find a cut hose next to the petrol tank of his car.
The Newtown man said thieves had used the hose to steal petrol from his car.
His car was parked out the front of his house when it happened.
Mr Ritter suspects the thieves attempted to steal the fuel about 10pm.
"There are some scratch marks on my car so they used something metal to pop the fuel flap open," he said.
"The car is always locked.
"They used a garden hose and left it next to the car."
Annoyingly the thieves took the fuel cap with them meaning Mr Ritter will need to replace the cap.
Mr Ritter said police had been contacted.
