Springsure stirs in Middlemount

MIDDLEMOUNT Panthers toughed it out for a 22-16 victory over Springsure Mountain Men in Middlemount.

Springsure coach Ben Sullivan said it was one of the best games he’d seen all season.

“My boys really stood up; they stuck to the game pattern and played really intense footy,” he said.

Scott Shultz was all over the park for the Mountain Men, scoring two tries to be voted players’ player and man of the match.

Middlemount’s Luke Costello was on target as replacement goal-kicker, converting three from four, while Clinton Duncan and Ryan Hansel were also strong for Panthers.
