No charges laid over CBD stabbing incident

UPDATE 7AM:  POLICE have finished their investigations into a stabbing incident in Ipswich on Monday afternoon.

Around 4.30pm, a man went inside at a chemist on Brisbane St with a wound to his abdomen.

Staff alerted QAS and the man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment to a non-life-threatening wound.

A crime scene was declared while police investigated what happened but a police spokesperson this morning confirmed investigations had finished.

Police say the stabbing is not suspicious and nobody will be charged over the incident.

UPDATE 8.30PM: AN IPSWICH CBD business is this evening a crime scene as police investigate after a man was stabbed.

Police have declared a crime scene as officers continue to investigate the incident.

Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time, is asked to contact police.

INITIAL: A PERSON has been taken to hospital with a stab wound following an incident in Ipswich this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the corner of Brisbane and Wharf St about 4.25pm.

Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed one person was treated for a stab wound to the stomach and has since been taken to the PA Hospital in a serious condition.

QPS says police are on scene to conduct investigations.
