Stalker mails tongue to ex

A STALKER sent his former girlfriend a parcel containing a severed cow's tongue - and warned the next parcel would contain her daughter's head.

Kevin Eric Jones, 36, also sent the terrified woman bullet casings in the mail and two fake sticks of dynamite, which later triggered the evacuation of a police station.

Ipswich District Court was told the woman's ordeal began when she broke up with Jones in November 2011, eight months after they met through online dating website RSVP.

Jones was so incensed at the relationship breakdown he stalked his ex for months, posting her packages containing the cow's tongue and fake bomb.

The woman took the bomb package to the police station, which had to be evacuated while officers investigated the legitimacy of the bomb.

Police forensic investigators found Jones's fingerprints on the packages and letters, and he was charged.

He yesterday pleaded guilty to unlawful stalking and making a bomb hoax. He was sentenced to two years prison and released on immediate parole.

The court heard when Jones posted the tongue he wrote, "If you keep making allegations the next thing you receive won't be a tongue - it will be one of your daughters' head's next".

Defence barrister Steve Kissick said Jones suffered from numerous medical conditions but was normally a "happy go lucky" type of man. Jones was also issued a five-year restraining order against the woman.
