Stars to shine at talent camp

IDENTIFYING and nurturing the netball stars of the future will be high on the list of priorities at a Capricorn region talent camp in Emerald tomorrow.

The Stanwell 12-13 years Claws Junior Talent Camp will bring together 65 promising 12 and 13-year-old players from the nine Capricorn associations stretched from Gladstone to Longreach.

The camp aims to not only show young netballers the pathways open to them in the sport, but also provide them with the skills and education to help them achieve their goals. Capricorn regional president Debbie Hall said the response to this year's camp had been amazing.

"We actually had to cap the numbers three weeks before the registrations closed and now have players on a waiting list," Hall said.

The camp will be led by Capricorn Claws coach, Barb Ahmat.
