Suns trio set to debut for opener with the Tigers

GOLD Coast has named three rookies to debut against Richmond in round one at Metricon Stadium tomorrow night.

Boom youngster Jack Martin (pictured), who has drawn comparisons with teammate and 2013 Rising Star winner Jaeger O'Meara, was selected alongside South Australian Sean Lemmens and Queenslander Clay Cameron.

Lemmens, taken at pick No.27 in last year's national draft, has impressed in defence in the team's pre-season trials. Cameron's selection was the most surprising, the AFL/AIS Academy graduate saying his mum was very excited when he rang with the news.

"Mum was screaming and carrying on like a pork chop," the 190cm utility said.

"Dad's more measured. He was proud of me, but mum was over the top."

Cameron has impressed with his attack on the ball in the pre-season, and has played on both tall and small forwards.
