Sydney beauty is loving life as the face of E! Australia

THREE months ago Ksenija Lukich was an unknown Aussie model.

But the Sydney University graduate has found herself in a whirlwind of cameras, celebrity interviews and travel as the first host of E! Australia.

"It's been completely crazy," Lukich told APN.

"I've never had a change so dramatic in my life, but I'm loving every minute of it."

The 24-year-old beat out thousands of other applicants for the plum role, which has her covering red carpet events and keeping her finger on the pulse of pop culture in Australia for the international entertainment brand.

"I'd always wanted to do presenting and I've always loved entertainment, fashion and music," she said.

"I had auditioned for a couple of other little things before but I'd never got parts at that stage, so I was feeling realistic about it. I thought 'I'm probably not going to get this'.

"Within a week (of being cast) I was interviewing Giuliana Rancic ... within two months I've had six big interviews."

Those big interviews include Fashion Police's Kelly Osbourne, stylist to the stars Rachel Zoe, French designer Jean Paul Gaultier, actress Zoe Kravitz, and director and actress Angelina Jolie.

"I've definitely learnt how hectic a red carpet is. That's something I didn't really know much about," she said.

"You don't know when you're going to get them (the stars).

"I had three minutes with Angelina, so there's no time for nerves, no time for being star struck. You just do what you need to do."

Lukich, whose first name is pronounced "Ki-sen-ya", said her secret to striking up an instant rapport with celebrities was enthusiasm.

"There's nothing like breaking the ice with a smile," she said.

"If you have a warm, engaging smile people will want to talk to you.

"I've always considered myself a fairly enthusiastic person.

"I've never had trouble talking; I've always been a chatter, so I love being able to break the ice with someone."

Lukich will travel to Los Angeles early next year to report for E! ahead of the Golden Globes and she has her sights set on some big Hollywood names.

"I'd love to interview Jennifer Lawrence and someone like Meryl Streep," she said.

"I'd love to interview Hugh Jackman, as I'm a big musical theatre fan, and Emma Stone, you know, those great funny people who have really great energy.

"It has been such a crazy end to the year. I can't imagine how it's going to get any better."

Ksenija Lukich can be seen daily on Foxtel's E! Channel.
