CAPELLA State School levelled a nail-biting T-ball series at one game a piece in Tieri last week, setting up a grand finale for the last game of the three-match challenge.

Capella captain Imogen Storey won the toss and sent the hometown opponents into bat, a great move that restricted Tieri to just five runs from their 14 batters.

Jordan Farquhar, Adam Hugo and Ben Settetrombe set about chasing down the Tieri total, leaving Capella with a five run lead after the first innings.

Capella’s Jaiden Wilson secured the first home-run in Sports Shield’s history with an enormous 70 metre hit on loaded bases, helping himself and three other team-mates to get to the home plate.

By the end of the third, and just in time for the rain, the scores sat at 21-15 in Capella’s favour.

The game was halted due to poor weather and dangerous conditions, leaving Capella on top to level the series and set up the final day cracker.
