Ipswich road rage accused to face court on April 6

A MOTORIST involved in a road rage incident that began with a high speed chase and ended with a confrontation outside Ipswich police station will appear in court next month facing numerous charges including dangerous driving.

Footage of the terrifying pursuit was posted on Facebook yesterday.

It shows two cars engaged in a reckless chase along the Cunningham Highway.

Captured by a dashboard camera on one of the cars, the incident begins some way before the Redbank Plains Rd turnoff of the highway, continues along and towards the Swanbank exit, where the two cars narrowly avoid a major collision and crashing into other vehicles.

The chase ends outside the city's police station, where the owner of the dashcam vehicle arrived to report the incident. He however is confronted by the other driver and the two appear to come to blows.

Police said that officers at the station were forced to draw their tasers in order to control the incident.

While at least one taser was drawn, it was not used.

A 30-year-old man was charged with dangerous driving and public nuisance and obstructing police and will appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on April 6.
