Teen escapes 'sex attack' via window

A 17-YEAR-OLD man jumped from a second-storey bedroom window at Emu Park on Tuesday night to escape an alleged sex attacker.

The local teen then ran to a nearby house after the alleged attack in the Ferguson St residence by a man he knew.

A nearby resident, who wished not to be named, yesterday said he heard the commotion of dogs barking and police cars in the normally quiet town.

He said his neighbour later told him the young man had run to their house looking for help.

Yeppoon police Senior Sergeant Max Bennett said the teen wasn’t feeling safe, fled from the bedroom and called police.

He was uninjured.

After Yeppoon CIB investigated, a 48-year-old Brisbane man was yesterday arrested and charged with sexual assault.

He was released on bail and is due appear in Yeppoon Magistrates Court on June 3.
