Be part of 'hope' for sufferers

THE Central Highlands Relay for Life committee may be small but they are a dedicated group devoted to putting together Relay each year.

Some of us have lost a loved one, others are a survivor or carer or have a passion to bring people together to walk for 18 hours to show their commitment towards battling this disease.

Whatever our reasons are for doing this, there is one word that describes our dedication and passion for doing what we do and that is “hope”.

Hope that the survivors who have proudly taken part in the Survivors’ Lap this year will be at next year’s Relay to once again walk that lap to the applause of the teams lining the track.

Hope that one day there will be a cure found for the Big C and we can all come together to rejoice in the knowledge that in some way we have helped to achieve this.

We also do this to rememberloved ones, friends and others who have lost their fight against cancer and that they will always remain in our hearts and thoughts.

As we approach the 2011 Relay for Life, the committee would like to extend a big thank you to the sponsors, volunteers, helpers and teams for your dedication and hard work.

There is still time to put together a team and register by visiting the website at

We look forward to seeing you all at Relay.
