Operation Cowboy

THE Noel Coyne-trained Cowboy Town is spelling and may need to undergo an operation to remove bone chips. Owned by local tyre retailer Roy Woods the rising four-year-old created a big impression by winning three of his first five starts but has failed to recapture that form recently. Hopefully the spell will see him back on the winners’ list.

THE annual Middlemount Race Day is three weeks away and my spies Nicole Matheson, Bill Gray and Richard “Nugget” Turnbull, assure me that all is on track for a bumper day. Each year the event goes from strength to strength and this year will be no exception.

TURNBULL is enjoying a dream run as an owner with the horse he has a share in. Two-year-old filly You Done It Again is trained by Clinton Garland in Rockhampton and won her past three starts. Her career record reads five starts for three wins, two seconds and over $50,000 in prize-money. Garland has a high enough opinion of the filly to nominate her in Brisbane tomorrow.
