There's a healthy cannabis plant in the tub

DANE Mace pleaded guilty to producing cannabis in a bathtub with Gladstone Magistrates Court told one plant was a healthy one metre in height.

Mace, 27, agreed he had been growing seven plants at his Boyne Island home on January 4 and also had drug utensils/pipes.

The drug was for personal use, Mace telling police he liked 'to have a smoke every now and again'.

Police prosecutor Sgt Barry Stevens said the six smaller plants were growing in the laundry, and the charges his third or fourth drug offence.

The court heard Mace suffers with back pain, his use of the drug intending to help as pain relief.

Magistrate Penelope Hay reminded Mace that growing the drug for medicinal relief was still illegal.

He was jailed for three months, the sentence immediately suspended for two years.
