Thirteen arrested after party bust-up goes awry

THIRTEEN people have been charged following a large disturbance in Darra overnight.

Police were called to an address on Boundary Road shortly after midnight to assist in breaking up a party.

As people were leaving the party, a number of disturbances and fights have broken out between and extra police units were called to assist.

It will be alleged that as well as physical altercations, a number of glass bottles were thrown during the disturbance.

No police officers were injured as a result and a number of people involved were treated for minor cuts.

Police took four boys between the ages of 15 and 16, and nine men between the ages of 17 and 24 into custody at the scene.

They have all have been charged with public nuisance offences.
