Three big reasons to give praise

IT IS a celebration of triple proportions.

Harvest Life Christian Church this weekend is celebrating 30 years of having an Assemblies of God church in Emerald, 20 years of having Ron and Mary Anning as pastors and 10 years in their auditorium on Gladstone St.

Pastor Ron said the three big occasions all coincided around the same time so they decided to celebrate the three milestones in one big bash. Everyone is invited to come,” Pastor Ron said.

“The celebrations are to honour all past ministries and celebrate the milestones.”

The official celebration is on Saturday from 2pm and will continue on Sunday for the two services at 9.30am and 6.30pm with special guest national president of the Australian Christian Church movement Wayne Alcorn speaking.

The weekend will also honour the work Ron and Mary have put into the church and community throughout the 20 years they have lived in Emerald.

Pastor Ron said he and his wife Mary with their three children arrived in Emerald in April 1991 from the Sunshine Coast.

“We had never been west of a sand dune before and we drove all night to get here, driving into town at 6am,” he said.

“We knew straight away this was the plan for our life and we have been here ever since.”
