Cowboys lay finals place on line

THREE games left until the finals and I feel the top-four are decided and the fifth spot is still up for grabs.

Cowboys could be the team depending on this weekend’s results to overtake Middlemount.

Dysart remain undefeated and if they can defeat no.2 Tieri this weekend then they will remain undefeated for the year. They have been playing good football all year but the pressure mounts every game not to get a loss. Can they hold on?

I coached a side in 1996 and we only lost one game - the major semi-final and it was to Springsure who we only just defeated in the grand final.

Crushers have lost form and players and may retain third spot with Clermont holding fourth spot.

The Springsure game 27-26 would have been a real cliffhanger – good for the spectators to watch.

Two good games in Middlemount this weekend with the Bulls up against the Pirates and in the main game Clermont battling it out with Middlemount. It will be a interesting run-in and at this time of year the players come out of the woodwork to play teams in the finals.

Who will be the Jim Gallagher recipient this year? Let me know which player could be the Central Highlands Player of the Year.
