Three men on trial for rape case

THE district court trial of three men who allegedly raped a woman after following her home from her farewell party in October, 2008, began in Emerald this week.

Two males, aged 17 at the time, and a third male, then 16 years of age, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty to three charges each of rape.

One of the 17-year-olds also pleaded not guilty to a charge of unlawful and indecent assault.

The trial continues before Judge Grant Britton and is expected to conclude later this week.
