Three-wheeled motorcycle crash in Douglas

POLICE are investigating a single-vehicle traffic crash that occurred in Douglas this morning.

Around 11.15am, a three-wheeled motorcycle lost control and collided with a gutter at the intersection of Nathan Street and Angus Smith Drive.

Initial investigations indicate a man was riding a three-wheeled motorcycle when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a gutter at the intersection of Nathan Street and Angus Smith Drive.

The 68-year-old rider was transported to Townsville Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating whether the man suffered a medical condition prior to the crash.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
