RICHMOND isn't fussed who wins tonight's semi-final at Spotless Stadium.

After enjoying the weekend off, the Tigers will be ready to take on either GWS or West Coast in next week's preliminary final, says defender Dylan Grimes.

"It's going to be such a challenge either way, it's really hard to pick one or the other," he said.

"For us, everything has been so focused internally that we haven't really spoken about what the different scenarios might be.

"We're really looking to prepare the best we can regardless of the opposition."

Richmond will take a great amount of confidence out of the fact it has beaten both the Giants and Eagles this season.

The Tigers did lose to GWS in round nine (by three points), but beat it in the return bout in round 18 (by 19), and held off West Coast in round three (by 11).

Whichever team wins tonight will also have to contend with 90,000 Tigers fans at the MCG.

"It's definitely a positive to be able to say we've beaten both of those sides throughout the year but at the same time, finals footy is a really different brand of footy," Grimes said.

"It's great to be playing on our home deck as well, there's no doubt that's an advantage given they're both interstate teams, but for us it's going to be a challenge either way."

On the back of their crushing win over Geelong in the qualifying final, the Tigers will be favoured to reach their first grand final in 35 years.

"There's been a lot of hype around the place, but internally I think we've been pretty balanced ... At the moment everyone's pretty level-headed, but no doubt there's a level of excitement around the club," Grimes said.
