R & B group TLC has decided to crowd fund their latest and last album through kickstarter.
The group who became famous with hits such as Creep, Waterfalls and No Scrubs hasn't produced music in 13 years since their last album 3D, seven months after the death of band member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes in 2002.
Remaining members T-Boz and Chilli launched the kickstarter campaign on Monday, despite having an impressive resume of two muliplatinum albums, 10 top 10 singles and four number one singles.
They say they're hoping to raise at least $150,000 to fund the record.
At day two, they have 383 backers who have pledged a total of $43,189.
The group filed for bankruptcy in 1996. But it's not just about the money, TLC says it's looking forward to talking to fans during the recording process.
"We wouldn't dream of making our final album with anyone BUT our fans," reads the kickstarter page.
"Come on y'all, BE A PART OT TLC HISTORY!"
