Torrey Craig agrees to deal with Denver Nuggets

TORREY Craig, who was expected to be a key member of the Brisbane Bullets' upcoming NBL season, has agreed to a deal with the Denver Nuggets, sources told foxsports.com.au.

The American wing will sign a two-way deal, sources said, but has yet to put pen to paper as the Nuggets continue to communicate with the Bullets.

He's expected to sign his contract in the coming days.

The two-way contract is the NBA's new initiative, which will see Craig, the NBL's reigning best defensive player, earn approximately $320,000 over 45 days.

The 26-year-old will be a contracted player on the Nuggets, but will spend most of his time playing for their G-League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Craig averaged 11.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and one block in 22.2 minutes per game in the Summer League team, while displaying his signature defensive instincts.

Craig's promotion is a blow for the Bullets, who used all three import spots on players who have proven themselves in the league: Craig, Stephen Holt, and Travis Trice.

Now that Craig's deal with the Nuggets is agreed in principle, the Bullets will likely begin looking for a replacement immediately.
