UPDATE 1.30PM 

TRAFFIC is flowing again on Steve Irwin Way after the Landsborough section of the road was disrupted for almost five hours. 

Three cars collided about 8am this morning. 

Two of the vehicles collided head-on. 

The Forensic Crash Unit was tasked to investigate the moments before the crash, due to the serious nature of the impact. 

One crew remains on scene, but traffic is flowing freely. 

UPDATE 10.20AM

TRAFFIC is expected to be delayed on Steve Irwin Way for several hours as Forensic Crash police survey the scene of a three-vehicle crash this morning. 

One lane is open at the Big Kart Track turn off after the crash this morning about 8am in the southbound lanes. 

A woman was cut from her vehicle after being trapped for 45 minutes and was taken by medivac helicopter to Royal Brisbane Hospital. 

Two men have been taken to hospital in a stable condition. 

Police have urged drivers to only travel on the Landsborough section of Steve Irwin Way if it is essential. 

UPDATE 8.55AM:

POLICE are undertaking traffic control on Steve Irwin Way after a three vehicle crash in the southbound lanes at Landsborough. 

The cars collided near the Big Kart Track turnoff just after 8am this morning. 

Two men have suffered lacerations, but the third driver was trapped inside her vehicle for about 45 minutes.

A medical helicopter has been tasked to come to the woman's aid after paramedics worked to stabilise the woman who had suffered multiple fractures. 

The chopper is scheduled to land at the Big Kart Track property shorty to airlift the woman to hospital. 

EARLIER:

DRIVERS have been urged to travel with caution along Steve Irwin Way this morning after a three-vehicle crash at Landsborough. 

The cars collided about 8am in front of the Big Kart Track turn off in the southbound lanes. 

Traffic is backed up to the Landsborough exit as emergency services tend to the passengers involved. 

One female patient is still trapped in her vehicle, two male patients have suffered minor lacerations.
