LISA Limpus is organising an event very close to her heart.

The event, through Anytime Fitness, is a 24-hour treadmill challenge which will raise money to support Suicide Prevention Australia.

"For me I am a survivor of three suicide attempts, it's something that is obviously very close to my heart,” Lisa said.

The idea of the event is to raise $1500 and keep a treadmill going for 24 hours.

"I will be here for the full 24 hours. I am registered as the champion,” Lisa said.

"Some people might choose to walk or run, it's up to them.

Fifteen-minute slots can be bought for $15. All slots must be filled for the event to be a success.

"You can sponsor someone else so if you don't want to walk or run it they can,” Lisa said.

"Businesses and anyone can donate, really.”

While the number of kilometres that will be clocked up on the treadmill is unfathomable, Lisa is confident in the event and will be there for the long haul.

"I'll keep monitoring it and jumping on when there is no one,” she said.

"It'll be 1am to 5pm that will be the hardest.

"But at the end of the day I have been through it and I also recently lost a family member to suicide so walking on a treadmill is easier than what their family is going through.”

More than 280 Anytime Fitness clubs will be taking part in the nationwide event with the aim to raise $5000 for the cause.

Anytime Ftiness Biloela manager Mitch Terrick is on board for the event and said he would be helping Lisa where he can.

"I am also a depression and suicide survivor,” Mitch said.

"My boss asked if I would be interested and I said it was a good idea.”
