5000 chickens in truck crash

IPSWICH-Boonah Road has been reopened following a truck smash early Monday morning.

A truck reportedly carrying 5000 live chicks rolled at Milbong, about 30km south of Ipswich, at 1.30am.

The driver sustained only minor injuries, however there were reports that hundreds of the baby chickens died.

Police closed the road until about 9.15am while the truck was recovered and any debris were cleared.
