Police divert traffic where truck collides with pipe

UPDATE: Police and emergency services have cleared the area where a truck struck a gas pipe.

Police diverted traffic on Russell St while at the scene.

They said it was a minor incident and that the area had been made safe.

BREAKING: A truck has collided with a gas pipe in a laneway in the Toowoomba CBD with reports of a strong smell of gas in the area.

The incident has occurred in Bank Ln which is located between Russell St and the Bell Street Mall.

It was reported to emergency services about noon.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services are arriving on scene.
