Trailer destroyed in Bruce Hwy fire

UPDATE 11.20m: 

TRAFFIC is flowing in both directions on the Bruce Hwy after it was closed earlier today after a trailer caught fire. 

All emergency services have left the scene. 

The trailer is still sitting on the side of the road. 

EARLIER 9am:

THE Bruce Hwy is closed after a trailer carrying poly-pipe caught on fire 25km south of Proserpine.

Police are currently diverting traffic around the O'Connell River bridge where they were called to this morning about 7am.

Fire and Emergency Services arrived at the fire at 7.20am to witness the trailer with poly-pipe had been detached from the truck that was carrying it.

By 7.28am the fire was under control and then reported as extinguished before 8am.

Two fire crews are still on the scene cleaning up and Police are still diverting traffic.

Queensland Ambulance Services was also called to the fire but there were no injuries and the paramedics weren't needed.
