Trying to spice up love life with handcuffs ends in court

TRYING to spice things up in the bedroom has landed a Burnett Heads man with a 12-month good behaviour bond after he pleaded guilty to possessing an illegal pair of handcuffs.

Alexander Peter Gonda said he had no idea the handcuffs, which had no release mechanism, were illegal.

He told the court he bought them from an army disposal store at his girlfriend's request, but had never used them because he lost the key.

Police found Gonda asleep in his car at Burnett Heads on December 18, 2013, and initially thought the metal handcuffs were a knife.

No conviction was recorded.
