Two armed teens allegedly stole 74-year-old woman's car

TWO men have been charged following an incident in Varsity Lakes this morning.

It will be alleged that around 7.40am two men approached a 72-year-old woman armed with a knife and stole her vehicle before fleeing the scene.

Police will further allege that the men drove erratically along the Gold Coast Highway at Palm Beach before being intercepted by police on Ballow Street at Coolangatta.

A 19-year-old Bundamba man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle and failure to stop motor vehicle.

An 18-year-old Bundamba man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Both men are due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
