Two injured during liquor store robbery

A MAN has allegedly assaulted two store workers during a robbery at Woree last night.

Police say around 7:45 a man and a woman robbed the Bruce Highway liquor store and caused damage to the property as well.

The two staff members, a 66-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, were treated at the scene for minor facial injuries.

A 22-year-old Bayview Heights man is due to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court today charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, common assault, stealing and wilful damage.

A 25-year-old Bayview Heights woman is scheduled to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on May 11 charged with stealing and receiving tainted property
