BRL to investigate several incidents from opening round
BUNDABERG Rugby League's season-opening clash between Past Brothers and Hervey Bay Seagulls was a marvel on the field, but the judiciary will investigate several incidents from the game.
In the first half, Brothers fullback Jake Carl kicked and chased a bomb from behind his fellow attackers, latched onto the ball after it was allowed to bounce and scored under the sticks.
Referee Mark Staib disallowed the try on the basis a support player was offside from the kick, and encroached within 10m of an opponent waiting for the ball (section 14.2).

Hervey Bay Seagulls
Past Brothers (defending premiers)
This is not a scientific poll. The results reflect only the opinions of those who chose to participate.
Some fans vehemently disagreed with the decision, with one overheard saying the ref "should be hung".
The matter was reported to ground management.
Brothers interchange forward Metui Kalekale was sent off in the second half after he allegedly made contact with the referee, while the judiciary will review an alleged biting incident from the same game.
A dangerous throw from the Waves-Easts game will also be reviewed.
