FOOTBALL: Kevin Muscat has called on Melbourne Victory fans to reproduce the cauldron atmosphere created in round 15 when his players hung on for a famous win over the Brisbane Roar.

The A-League's two most successful clubs (three titles apiece) lock horns in Sunday night's A-League semi-final at AAMI Park, with a spot in next Sunday's grand final up for grabs.

While the ledger is square this season with one win apiece and a draw, Muscat fondly recalled the famous win when the Victory overcame a Roar comeback and a soft Besart Berisha red card to win 3-2.

The sending-off was rescinded but when a replay was shown of the Roar's Luke DeVere collapsing despite opponent Berisha making little or no contact, it made for an electric final 30 minutes, with Victory fans giving it to the defender every time he touched the ball.

"Going back to that incident when Bes was sent off, the (fans) felt a real injustice with what happened and the stadium (erupted)," Muscat said.

"Maybe they'll be coming to the stadium with the same mentality and I'm pretty sure it'll be a really good atmosphere that'll spur us on."

The Victory is refreshed and full-strength, with Daniel Georgievski set to return to left-back after completing his suspension and utility Leigh Broxham likely to return to midfield.

"We used last week to really zoom in mentally and make sure we were right between the ears," Muscat said.

"Then you see the first finals and just sense a bit of adrenaline bubbling away in training."
