A PAIR of anglers have been given the fright of their lives after their tinny became the target of a five-metre shark off Blacksmiths Beach near Newcastle.
Tim Watson, 24, caught the shark on camera with mate Allan de Sylva, 23, unable to hide their fear at being faced with the monstrous beast.
"It felt like getting trapped in a room with an angry pit bull," he told the Newcastle Herald.
"It wouldn't leave us alone.
"You almost wanted to stop and admire it but it was being pretty aggressive.
"It was as big as a wagon car - that's what it felt like looking at it."
When they finally started the engine to get away, the shark started head-butting it.
"I don't think it will stop me, I won't go that far out in the a small boat again, though," Mr Watson said.
