Voice singers sent home after one-minute "instant" voting
FOUR heads rolled in last night's first live elimination of The Voice 2014.
Taila Gouge, John Lingard, Mat Verevis and C Major were all sent packing after the introduction of a new "instant save" option for viewers engaged on the show's Home Coach mobile app.
In a first for the show, the two singers with the lowest votes on each team performed new songs before fans were given just one minute to vote to keep one of them on the show.
The mammoth 2.5-hour show started with a performance by coach Kylie Minogue and the announcement of her Kiss Me Once Australian tour in March next year.

It will be Minogue's first live shows in Australia since her 2012 Anti-Tour club shows.
Coach will.i.am got in a bit tongue twisted when he called Kylie's singer Robbie "Chris".
Then again later in the show he had the other coaches in stitches when he called Kat Jade's performance "horny" for the horned headpieces worn by her backup dancers.
But it was Frank Lakoudis who brought the "sex to the stage" as Kylie said, sharing the stage with three pole dancers as he belted out Lenny Kravitz's American Woman.
Byron siblings Gabriel and Cecilia Brandolini had fans divided on Twitter with their unique take on I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables.
Duo ZK touched hearts with their rendition of John Lennon's Imagine dedicated to Kristal West's grandfather, Aboriginal land rights campaigner Eddie Mabo.
Next week coach Joel Madden will perform his and brother Benji's new single We Are Done.
