Wakeboarder injured in dam accident
A 31-YEAR-OLD man was airlifted to Mackay Base Hospital this afternoon after a wakeboarding accident at Theresa Creek Dam, near Clermont.
It is believed the man sustained internal injuries.
The RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter was flying to a patient in Moranbah who was suffering from a cardiac-related medical condition, when they were rerouted to the Clermont incident.
On their return to Mackay, it was expected RACQ CQ Rescue would fly to Moranbah to complete the original tasking.
