Wave of support for sick children

BIG wave surfer Mark Visser (pictured) usually spends his time tracking down some of the biggest waves on the planet, jumping out of planes and fulfilling his own wishes.

But this Wish Day, the Sunshine Coast adventurer will be helping to make wishes come true for seriously ill children.

Mr Visser is the sixth Wish Day Ambassador to be revealed as part of Make-A-Wish Australia's countdown to Wish Day 2013.

He said he was extremely passionate about supporting the organisation as he believed it made a real difference to the lives of sick children.

"To see how much it impacts on their lives by allowing them to focus on something they love and something that makes them really happy, is to me, the most inspiring thing ever."

Wish Day 2013 will be celebrated this Friday to raise awareness and funds for Make-A-Wish.
