BASKETBALL: Russell Westbrook has set a franchise playoff scoring record but it was not enough to get the Oklahoma City Thunder a win in the NBA series against the Houston Rockets.

Westbrook scored 51 points and added 13 assists and 10 rebounds, notching the most points ever in a post-season triple-double.

But the Rockets, led by James Harden's 35 points, ran out 115-111 winners for a 2-0 Western Conference series lead.

The Washington Wizards are also 2-0 up in their Eastern Conference series with a thrilling 109-101 win over the Atlanta Hawks.

Bradley Beal took over in the fourth quarter with 16 of his 31 points, including a key late three-pointer as the Wizards came from 78-74 down.

John Wall finished with 32 points and nine assists for the Wizards.

The Golden State Warriors stretched their lead to 2-0 over the Portland Trailblazers in their Western Conference series with a 110-81 win.
