Who is Kylie Jenner? She hit a billion likes in 2016
SHE may be the second-most divisive person in the extended Kardashian clan - the tiny tween turned make-up mogul Kylie Jenner.
While elder sister and social media baron Kim cleared the path for the youngest Kardashian/Jenner, Mrs Kardashian-West has always been attacked for being famous only for her sex tape.
What then do we make of Kylie?
She is as self-made as a woman can be when they blossom in front of the cameras, protected by a safety net worth many millions of dollars.
Her most valuable asset, beyond her often-exposed figure is perhaps her business acumen.
Thousands upon thousands of men and woman wear far less than "King Kylie" on social media, yet few can hold a candle to the strength and devotion of her fan base.
All 82.4 million of them, if we count those following her on Instagram.
That's fewer than Selena Gomez (104.18m), Taylor Swift (94.2m), Beyonce (89.66m) and even sister Kim (88.73m).
For Kylie, those numbers translate into sales of everything she hawks, from her make-up range to her spruiking for Puma, all while drawing more eyes than ever to neverending Keeping Up with the Kardashians series.
For New Year's Eve, Kylie posted what she described as her "last bathroom selfie of the year", with the buxom teenager amassing 1.6 million "likes" in just three hours, according to E! Online.
As if that wasn't enough, Kylie then returned to highlight her nine most popular Instagram posts, led by a smiling photo of her with sister Kendall, and a Christmas-themed cuddle with rapper boyfriend Tyga.
She also included a pretty wild statistic.
Kylie Jenner earned "1,464,381,508 likes to 1,139 posts in 2016."
That's more than three Instagram posts every one of the 365 days of last year.
If those likes were shared equally over each of those likes, it would amount to 1.2 million per post.
The nature of Kylie's fame might be hard to pin down -- for now she is not considered an actress, musician, artist and rarely though of as a model.
But her level of fame is something that most in the public eye could only dream of.
Perhaps she'll run for president one day.
